Sankarea - Final Impressions

What started off as a promising series ended on a somewhat bittersweet note.  Reading back on my initial impressions of Sankarea from this spring, I was wary of what to expect.  I didn't like zombies, and I was worried that Sankarea would take a more serious approach to the subject.  While it was a darker than other certain zombie animes, I was surprised at how much humor the writers were able to inject into the show.

Aquarion EVOL - Final Impressions

For a show that had quite a bit of potential despite it's silly Unions, the ending was a bit of a let down.

First, Kagura just lets Amata have Mikono after a whole 26 episodes of fighting with him for her?  That's a bit of a cop out.  I was expecting Kagura and Amata to merge into one again - that would have made more sense.  Second, Fudo was the reincarnation of Apollonius all this time?  Even though I never watched the original Aquarion, I'm not really quite sure why they threw this twist in.  Why did Amata, Kagura, and Apollo have to be the reincarnation of Apollonius's dog?  Why couldn't they have been Apollonius?  Third, what about Cayenne's dark vision of Mikono marrying Kagura?  Nothing like that came remotely close to happening  And lastly, what happened in the aftermath?  Is Altair still there?  Was there a new world formed?  And most importantly, how did Mix get her Big Bangs back?!

I'm disappointed.  I was enjoying it until the show fizzled in the middle, right around when they killed Jin off.

Acchi Kocchi - 11

Eek!  Acchi Kocchi, you're killing me!  Did what I think happened actually happen, or are Tsumiki and Io embarrassed because it nearly happened?  I wanna know!

Hiiro no Kakera - 12 & 13 (End)

Silly me,  I didn't realize that they've split up what I thought was to be two-cour into a one-cour show this season, with the second half picking up in October.

Accel World - 10 & 11

I gotta say, Accel World does cliffhangers extremely well!  Or horribly, depending if you are enjoying them or not.

Hiiro no Kakera - 11

And we have another puzzle piece added to the mix, the legend of the three gods and the Tamayori princess sealing away the Oni.

Acchi Kocchi - 09 & 10

It's a double feature, with culture festivals and Christmas all wrapped up in one!

That face!  That expression!  Those tears!  How can anyone not think Haru is adorable??!

Man, the expressions on Tamaki, Takuma, and Mahiro's faces in this scene were priceless.
