TARI TARI - 06
We're finally awarded for waiting to hear Wakana sing as she joins the group as a full member!
Before she was able to sing, Wakana had to finally come to terms with her guilt and fully accept her mother's passing. The letter that the Condor Queens gave her a couple of episodes was the straw that broke the camel's back, as evident by Wakana getting rid of all her possessions that reminded her of her mother. However, Wakana's feelings must have shifted somehow, maybe because she got rid of everything, but she's finally able to ask her father why her mother kept her illness from her. Her mother's reasoning in the flashback was sound and understandable. There's no way that she could have predicted that she would have died before Wakana's exams were over. I thought the scene when Wakana broke down, first in guilt and sadness, and then ultimately in acceptance, was very touching.
Now that Wakana has broke through her guilt and began singing again, where will the rest of the anime take us? I'm a bit apprehensive since we're already about halfway through, and we've only skimmed the surface of the other characters. We've seen plenty of Konatsu, and a fair amount of Sawa, but barely anything about Wien or Tanaka. And with Sawa, she's only been a supporting character so far; when will her own dreams of becoming a jockey become the focus? A couple of side notes: Wien and his ridiculous books are so hilarious! And I love Sawa! Her snappy comments yet gentle and kind demeanor is what everyone needs in a friend.
